A120 Crane Rail — Supplied Across Australia

Inform Rail supplies DIN 536 A120 crane rail for the heaviest overhead crane runways and large industrial applications across Australia. The A120 is the largest profile in the standard DIN 536 A-series range and is specified for major port infrastructure, container handling systems, quay cranes and high-capacity bulk handling facilities where the A100 is no longer sufficient.

The A120 features a 120mm head width and a wider 220mm foot than the A100, with a heavier web and deeper section that gives it the highest load capacity in the range. At 100 kg per metre it is a substantial piece of infrastructure. Matched fastening systems including clips, pads, fishplates and sole plates can be supplied to suit the profile.

FAQ

A120 Crane Rail: Common Questions

What is A120 crane rail used for?
A120 crane rail is the heaviest standard profile in the DIN 536 A-series range. It is used for the most demanding overhead crane runways in major ports, container terminals, shipyards and large industrial operations where maximum load capacity is required. It is commonly specified for quay cranes, ship-to-shore container cranes and large ship loader runways.
What are the dimensions of A120 crane rail?
DIN 536 A120 crane rail has a head width of 120mm, a height of 105mm, a foot width of 220mm and a web thickness of 72mm. The mass is 100.0 kg per metre. These dimensions are defined by the DIN 536 standard and are consistent across compliant manufacturers.
What clips are compatible with A120 crane rail?
Compatible welded clips for A120 include the M120 and M165. Compatible bolted clips include the CLX-20 and CLX-24. Given the heavy duty nature of A120 applications, the M165 or CLX-24 are often specified. Clip selection depends on the installation method, substructure type and load requirements. Send us your drawings or crane details and we'll advise.
What is the difference between A120 and A100 crane rail?
The A120 has a wider head (120mm vs 100mm), greater height (105mm vs 95mm), wider foot (220mm vs 200mm) and heavier web (72mm vs 60mm) than the A100. At 100 kg per metre vs 74.3 kg per metre, it is significantly heavier. A120 is specified for the most demanding applications where the A100 is no longer sufficient, typically major port crane infrastructure and very high-capacity industrial cranes.
Can A120 crane rail be supplied cut to length?
Yes. A120 crane rail can be cut to your specified lengths prior to dispatch. Standard lengths are 12m. Drilling to your bolt pattern is also available. Include your cutting and drilling requirements in your enquiry.
Can Inform Rail supply a complete A120 fastening system?
Yes. We can supply matched A120 crane rail clips, fishplates, sole plates, rail pads and hook bolts as a complete package. Send us your rail profile, substructure details and any drawings and we'll quote a complete fastening system. No minimum order applies.
