The 50kg is an active profile under AS1085.1-2002, one of only five profiles listed in the current standard, which makes it a preferred specification for new construction where a mid to heavy section is required. The designation refers to the mass per metre of the rail section, and the profile is sometimes written 50 kg rail or 50kg/m rail.

Rail is supplied in a standard length of 12 metres, with cut-to-length and drilling to your bolt pattern available prior to dispatch. Matched fastening systems including clips, fishplates, sole plates and rail pads can be supplied to suit the profile and substructure.
