DIN 536 A-series crane rail is the standard profile for overhead crane runways, gantry cranes, container handling and heavy industrial applications across Australia. The DIN 536 profile features a distinctive wide head geometry engineered specifically for crane wheel contact, distributing loads across a wide contact area and reducing stress in the rail and supporting structure.

We source the most commonly specified A-series profiles from qualified international mills. Other crane rail profiles are available on request. Matched fastening systems including clips, pads, fishplates and sole plates can be supplied to suit each profile.

Standard crane rail is typically supplied in 6m, 9m or 12m lengths depending on the profile and manufacturer. Where these lengths don't suit your installation, we can arrange rail cut to your specified lengths prior to dispatch, reducing on-site cutting time and waste.

Rail can also be drilled to your specified bolt pattern prior to dispatch using our PRO NM-360 cordless rail drilling machine, ideal for projects where on-site drilling is impractical or time-critical.

What is the difference between A-series crane rail and standard rail?

A-series crane rail (DIN 536) has a unique wide head geometry engineered specifically for crane wheel contact. The profile is designed to carry the concentrated loads of overhead crane wheels. Standard rail has a narrower head suited to flanged wheels on conventional track. Crane rail is used for overhead crane runways; standard rail is used for industrial track, mainline and mining applications.

What crane rail profile do I need for my overhead crane?

The right profile depends on your crane's wheel load, span and duty class. As a starting point, A45 and A55 suit lighter duty overhead cranes, A65 and A75 cover mid-range industrial cranes, and A100 and A120 are used for heavy duty and port applications. Send us your crane details or drawings and we'll advise on the appropriate profile and fastening system.

Can you help replace obsolete or out-of-production rail?

Yes. This is one of our most common enquiries. If you have the rail dimensions, a section reference or a photo, we can usually identify the profile and recommend a compatible modern replacement with matching fastening components. BHP 60lb (31kg) rail is a common example we assist with regularly.

How long does delivery take?

Most stock is held in Brisbane, enabling fast packing and dispatch. Delivery timeframes depend on your location and the profile and we can advise at the time of enquiry. We deliver across Australia by road or rail. For urgent requirements, let us know and we'll do our best to prioritise.

Do you have a minimum order?
